  • What is KACCO?
    KACCO is the Kentucky Association of Child Care Owners. We provide assistance to all Child Care Providers in Kentucky (including owners, directors, assistant directors, and staff)! Our Mission is to make the Child Care Industry BETTER!! If we don't have the answer -- we will seek & find the answer for you!!
  • How do I become a KACCO Member?
    To Join, your center must pay a fee based on the type of center you have. See our breakdown below: Type 1 - $200 membership fee for the first center, then $100 for each location after that. Type 2 - $75 membership fee Certified Home Center - $50 membership fee This is an annual fee starting July 1st, then ending June 30th of each year. In other words, whether or not you pay your membership fee on July 1st or April 1st, your membership will expire on June 30th. Learn More Here
  • Why should I join KACCO?
    Free, Unlimited training for you and all your staff, including orientation and STARS training! All of our trainings are independent trainings, meaning that once you select the training you want, you can go at your own pace!

  • What is the difference between DCC (Division of Child Care) and OIG (Office of Inspector General)?
    DCC is the Division of Child Care !! They are responsible for Child Care Regulations, CCAP, STARS, Stimulus Payments, etc. The DCC Director is Andrea Day (AndreaT.Day@ky.gov) and the DCC Assistant Director is Phillip Smith (Phillip.Smith@ky.gov) !! Phone Number: 502-564-2524; Fax Number: 502-564-3464 OIG / DRCC is the Office of Inspector General / Division of Regulated Child Care !! They are responsible for regulating Child Care -- in other words, making sure Child Care Providers are following the Child Care Rules & Regulations !! They regulate by sending out State Inspectors to Child Care Centers !!   • What are the Kentucky Standards of Practice for Child Care Center Licensure (updated on 07/21/22) and how can I obtain a copy?

  • Does a TB Skin Test or does a TB Skin Questionnaire meet the regulation requirement?
    Per the Child Care Regulation -- a TB Skin Test OR TB Skin Questionnaire meets the regulation requirement. The TB Skin Questionnaire Form you can provide your "Health Care Provider" to complete is here. Make sure your Health Care Provider writes your name at the top of the Form (under Patient's Name), your Health Care Provider writes the date, checks the 3rd line IF you have absence of TB Symptoms, signs their name & writes the date, and they write the address/phone number of where they practice. It is very important that your health care provider is the one who fills out this form, not you! It says on the form -- A Health Care Provider is an MD, ARNP, PA, and RN).
  • I had a State Inspection and I want to rate the State Inspector as to how he / she conducted himself / herself during the visit? Where is the form and information on how to submit?
    If you go to our website (www.kacco.org) and click on the "Resources Tab" -- you will find the form to print off, complete, & submit to your specific Regional Office and OIG / DRCC !!
  • I want to do the CDA for Infants, Toddlers, and Preschool. What should I know?
    If you are interested in completing the CDA -- you must choose either the Infants/Toddlers or Preschool CDA. You can take both of them but you can only take them one at a time. You must live & work in a Kentucky Child Care Center in order to qualify for the CDA Scholarship.
