The holiday season is a time for reflection, gratitude, and, most importantly, giving back.
While it’s easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle, there are so many that need our help right now. If you’re looking for ways to make a positive impact, we’ve got three incredible opportunities for you to get involved in, whether it’s supporting animals, children, or families in need. Below are three important causes that we’re passionate about, and we’re asking for your help.
1. Support the Horses at Rainhill Equine Rescue
For many years, we’ve been providing much-needed supplies and support to the rescue horses at Rainhill Equine Rescue Facility, and this year, we need your help again. We’re just $500 short of our goal to provide the same level of care and supplies that we’ve been able to provide in the past. The funds will go toward purchasing feed, supplies, and anything else needed to keep these incredible rescue horses healthy and happy.
If you’re able to contribute, every dollar counts. Your donation will directly benefit these beautiful animals who have already been through so much. If you’d like to make a monetary donation to Rainhill, please reach out, and Melanie can provide more details on how you can help.
2. Brighten a Child’s Christmas at Shriners Children’s Hospital
We’re also collecting donations for Shriners Children’s Hospital in Lexington, where we hope to bring joy to the children who will be there this Christmas. From now through December 13th 2024, we’re gathering funds to purchase toys and gifts that will be distributed to the kids during the holiday season. These kids are facing serious health challenges, and a thoughtful gift can bring a moment of happiness and distraction during what can be a tough time.
If you’d like to help make a child’s Christmas brighter, please consider donating. Even a small contribution can help us purchase toys and games that will bring smiles to their faces. If you’d like to contribute, please contact Melanie, and she’ll be happy to guide you on how you can donate.
3. Help Feed Those in Need This Thanksgiving
Maria Bell is doing something truly special this Thanksgiving. As a talented chef, she’s preparing full Thanksgiving meals for the less fortunate in her community, and she’s in need of some essential food items to make this happen.
Here’s a list of what she needs:
Turkeys & Hams
Boxed Mashed Potatoes
Gallons of Milk & Sticks of Butter
Stovetop Stuffing
Individual Pies (available in the bread department)
Cans of Cranberry Sauce
Large Carry-out Trays
If you’d like to contribute, you can donate these items directly or provide a monetary donation to help purchase what’s needed. Some of the best places to shop for these items include Sam’s Club, Costco, and Aldi, which often offer great prices.
The deadline for donations is Friday, November 22nd, so we need to act quickly. Every contribution, big or small, will help make a difference in the lives of those who may not have a Thanksgiving meal otherwise.
Maria has already expressed her gratitude to Melanie and the KACCO family. Feel free to read her Facebook post here! Dana Bixler at the Notebook Learning Center also generously donated $200 to the cause!
How You Can Get Involved
We understand that this time of year can be tough for many, but it’s also a time to remember how fortunate we are and to share our blessings with others. Whether it’s helping out at the equine rescue, bringing a smile to a child at Shriners, or making sure someone has a warm meal this Thanksgiving, there are so many ways to make a meaningful impact.
If you’re interested in helping with any of the causes above, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We can provide more details and make it easy for you to get involved. Let’s make this holiday season a little brighter for those who need it most.
Thank you so much for your generosity, and happy holidays to you and yours!
Let’s spread kindness this holiday season! 🌟
